Delta Djakarta will continue to expand its market

16 September 2019 05:49

JAKARTA. PT Delta Djakarta Tbk (DLTA) believes that the tourism sector still plays an important role in driving its growth.

According to its financial statements in the first semester of 2019, the company's sales revenue declined slightly by 0.2% from Rp 389.49 billion in the first semester to 2018 to Rp 388.55 billion in the first semester of 2019. "Regulation and purchasing power are still the main factors that put pressure on the beer industry," said Ronny Titiheruw, Director of DLTA, as quoted by Kontan.co.id on Sunday (15/9).

The regulation in question is none other than a number of regional regulations (Perda) that limit the sales and marketing of beer. However, Delta Djakarta is still optimistic that it can improve its performance in the second half of this year.

"We continue to expand the market area and focus on tourist areas," said Ronny.

The financial statements also revealed that the company's cost of goods sold for the first half of this year rose by 4.7% year on year (YoY) to Rp 114.56 billion. As a result, its gross profit fell by 2.7% YoY from Rp 280.11 billion to Rp 273.99 billion. The company's net profit reached  141.55 billion in the first half of 2019, 0.7% lower than the record from the same period of last year of Rp 142.65 billion. (AM/AR)
