Sentul City considers developing independent city in East Kalimantan

16 September 2019 08:10

JAKARTA - PT Sentul City Tbk (BKSL) is considering the development of an independent city adjacent to the proposed new capital city location in East Kalimantan.

According to Sentul City Corporate Secretary Alfian Mujani, the company will collaborate with a business partner with experience in property and coal projects in East Kalimantan. The partner, said Mr Mujani, has sizeable landbank in the province.

“We cannot disclose the company yet. As an independent city developer we focus largely on building independent cities,” Mr Mujani told Kontan.co.id, Sunday (15/9).

Mr Mujani added that Sentul City is still awaiting the appropriate time to start developing its East Kalimantan project. The forest fires which have been plaguing the island of Kalimantan is also still preventing the company to commence the project.

“If the local government is responsive to the fire, we won’t be too worried,” said Mr Mujani. (MS)
