Delta Djakarta projects beer sales to increase in 2H

16 September 2019 08:13

JAKARTA - PT Delta Djakarta Tbk (DLTA) is optimistic that beer sales will improve in the second half of 2019 as customers’ purchasing power also increases. In 1H, the Anker manufacturer’s sales dropped 0.2% year on year (yoy) to Rp 388.5 billion.

“Regulations and purchasing power were still the primary factors that put the beer industry under pressure,” DLTA Chief Marketing Officer Ronny Titiheruw told Kontan.co.id, Sunday (15/9).

The regulations in question, he added, are those that restrict the sales and marketing of alcoholic drinks in several regions. However, the company remains confident that its performance will improve in 2H.

“We will expand our markets and focus on tourist areas,” said Mr Titiheruw, adding that the Christmas and New Year holiday period at the end of the year will boost sales, particularly in tourist areas. (MS)
