JAKARTA - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced a partnership with VC firm and accelerator 500 Startups to launch ImpactAim programme in Indonesia, aiming to boost social entrepreneurship in the country.

As reported by DealStreet Asia, the programme will select eight to 10 startups, required to be aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which have either raised seed capital or obtained funding beyond the seed stage. The selected startups will then take part in a 10-week programme in Jakarta, where they can present their businesses to global investors.

According to the UNDP’s Resident Representative in Indonesia Christophe Bauet, ImpactAim is expected to pave the way for small enterprises, particularly in Indonesia’s disadvantaged regions. “We are going to make a real impact to improve people’s lives,” said Mr Bauet in an official statement, Friday (13/9).
