JAKARTA. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk managed to record total sales of Retail Savings Bond (SBR) series SBR008 of Rp 114.50 billion, higher than BRI's initial target of Rp 100 billion.
Consumer Director at BRI, Handayani said that many people were interested in SBR008 because this instrument was considered as an alternative investment. Although its coupon is lower than the previous series of retail Government Securities (SBN), the guaranteed level of security helps attract investors.
However, he admitted that the short offering period of SBR008 slightly affected the results of the sale of the instrument at BRI. SBR008 was offered for 15 days, from 5 September to 19 September.
Meanwhile, customers who order SBR008 at BRI are quite balanced, there are old and new customers. "In terms of age, customers who buy SBR008 are dominated by the millennials," he said on Thursday (19/9). (AM/AR)
