JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said the construction of the 39.8 Km Serpong-Balaraja (Serbaraja) Toll Road will support regional development on the West side of Jakarta, one of which is Kota Baru Maja.

"Not only to Jakarta, but also to Lampung because it is connected to Balaraja, which is the Tangerang-Merak toll road access. So that with this toll road, connectivity will be better. (With increased connectivity), previously isolated regions will develop themselves. In addition, the spread of population is not only concentrated in Jakarta," said Minister Basuki while reviewing the location of the construction of the Serbaraja Toll Road in Tangerang, Friday (09/20/2019).

Serbaraja is a toll road connection from Ulujami-Serpong Toll Road. This toll road connects the City of South Tangerang with the Regency of Tangerang, consisting of three sections, namely section I (BSD-Legok) as far as 11.3 km, section II (Legok-Tigaraksa Selatan) 10.7 km, and section III (South Tigaraksa– Balaraja) 17.8 km.

For section 1A, the construction progress has now reached 13.67%. The construction was carried out by the Toll Road Business Entity PT. Trans Bumi Serbaraja with an investment of Rp 6 trillion and construction costs around Rp 2.7 trillion.

"This toll road is fully implemented with an investment scheme and its initiatives from investors. The entire construction is planned to be completed in 2024. For Section 1 about 10 km is planned to be completed in 2021 because most of the land is owned by investors, so the construction process can run smoothly," added the Minister. (LM)
