JAKARTA - Minister of State Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Rini M. Soemarno ensured that the Jakarta Bandung High Speed Train Project (KCJB) was running on target and had entered the phase of elevated track construction.

PT KCIC Managing Director Chandra Dwiputra said, 60% of the total KCJB tract was dominated by elevated structures. With the installation of the box girders, the construction of the tract is planned to be fully connected in 2020 and operational in 2021.

After the high speed train operates, Jakarta-Bandung trip of more than 140 km will be reached in less than 60 minutes. The four stations that will be passed by the train are Halim Station, Karawang Station, Walini Station and Tegalluar Station.

"Of the total 142.3 km of the High Speed train, Halim to Tegalluar will be traveled in only about 36 minutes for direct travel or around 46 minutes for indirect travel," said Minister Rini.

For information, in Halim area, the high speed train station will be integrated with Jakarta's Light Rail Transit, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and has strategic access due to its location which is quite close to Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport. Of all these advantages, KCJB can help solve the stagnation in the future so that the concentration of mobilization of public transportation in the capital can be more effective and efficient, especially in the eastern region of Jakarta to Bandung and vice versa.
