Bank Artha Graha closes down 10 branches to improve efficiency

JAKARTA - PT Bank Artha Graha Internasional Tbk (INPC) has closed down 10 branch offices as part of the company’s effort to improve efficiency.

According to Bank Artha Graha Director Anas Latief, the closure took place due to the declining trend of branch office transactions. Thus, the company has begun encouraging online digital banking services through its mobile app.

“We have closed down 10 branch offices. We’re currently evaluating our 2020 working plan and examining the transactions. For 2020, we will approximately close down a similar amount,” said Mr Latief as quoted by Bisnis.com, Thursday (10/10).

Currently Bank Artha Graha operates 95 branch offices across several Indonesian cities. With the closure of a number of offices, the company has transferred branch office staff members to its marketing division.

“Our employees are now largely concentrated in our marketing and digital division. With digitalisation, our back office system is automated with less manual work,” Mr Latief added.

“Thus, our technology and core banking system will automatically be stronger, and as such we’ve transferred a lot of our back office staff members to work in marketing.” (MS)
