OJK grants licenses to six P2P lenders

11 October 2019 15:24

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has granted operational licenses to six peer-to-peer (P2P) lending startups as of September this year. The six startups are Modalku, KTA Kilat, and Kredit Pintar, Maucash, Finmas, and KlikACC.

Previously OJK had granted licenses to seven P2P lenders, namely Danamas, Investree, Amartha, Dompet Kilat, KIMO, Toko Modal, and UangTeman. So far, there are 13 companies which have received full operational licenses from OJK.

“We expect that the OJK’s license to P2P lending firms will give more trust to the public and investors in a bid to expand the number of borrowers, lenders, and the loan distribution, giving more financial access to the whole Indonesian community,” said Indonesian Fintech Lenders Association (AFPI) Chairman Adrian Gunadi as quoted by DealStreet Asia, Thursday (10/10).

Currently there are 127 fintech startups registered under OJK. Among those registered but still awaiting a license are KoinWorks, Akseleran, Kredivo, Taralite, and Dana Cita. (MS)
