JAKARTA. Finance Minister Sri Mulyani stopped the operations of 325 importers who violated a number of regulations related to customs, taxes and a number of provisions of the Ministry of Trade.
Of those importers, 109 importers violated tax regulations, 213 importers violated customs regulations, and 3 importers violated the provisions of the Ministry of Trade. As many as 47 of those importers are said to come from the Bonded Logistics Center (PLB).
Meanwhile, five importers had their licenses revoked for violating customs regulations. Those importers engage in textiles and textile products (TPT) sector.
The Directorate General of Customs and Excise admitted that during the period of 1 January - 13 October 2019, the operations of 213 importers had been stopped. Meanwhile, on Monday (14/10), 112 importers had their operations stopped. (KR/AR)
