JAKARTA. Car sales volume in the third quarter of 2019 was recorded at 272,500 units, down 10% year on year (yoy).
Mandiri Sekuritas analysts Ariyanto Kurniawan and Wesley Louis Alianto said sales drop occurred in all carmakers. "The total sales of four-wheeled vehicles in Q3-2019 were not strong," they wrote in an official statement.
From January to September 2019, car sales volume amounted to 754,000 units, down 12% year to date (ytd). Based on the figure, Mandiri Sekuritas predicts no significant sales increase until the end of the year.
"This is because there is no new model from a major automaker in the market, both in the LMPV (low multi-purpose vehicle) and the LCGC (low-cost green car) segments," said Mr Kurniawan and Mr Alianto. (KR/MS)
