JAKARTA - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati will keep her post in President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) new cabinet for his second term. She said that after meeting President Jokowi at the State Palace today (22/10).
According to her, President Jokowi wants her to handle a number of economic issues, including encouraging economic growth. She was allowed by President Jokowi to disclose her appointment as Finance Minister to the press.
The decision to keep Sri Mulyani as Finance Minister is expected to provide certainty for market participants in Indonesia. It is also expected to ensure the continuity of the economic programs that have been started in President Jokowi's first term (2014-2019). (LK/AR)
