JAKARTA - Basuki Hadimoeljono will keep his post as Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) new cabinet for his second term. This was stated by Basuki after meeting President Joko Widodo at the State Palace today (22/10).
Basuki spent more time with President Jokowi than other ministerial candidates since he had lunch with him.
According to him, Presiden Jokowi asked him to continue a number of programs in the field of infrastructure, including the relocation of the capital city from DKI Jakarta to Samarinda, East Kalimantan, completion of infrastructures in a number of Special Economic Zones (KEK) such as Mandalika, NTB and super-priority destination areas such as Lake Toba , North Sumatra.
To continue and complete these programs, Basuki may be assisted by a deputy minister. However, certainty about the position of deputy minister will be stated by President Jokowi during the official announcement on Wednesday (23/10). (LK/AR)
