12 November 2019 08:15

JAKARTA. Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, urged that the construction of six oil and gas refineries carried out by PT Pertamina (Persero) should be finished faster.

The request was made by Luhut after holding a meeting with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif and President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati. "So now we want to make it this way, parallel. So that the projects can be finished sooner, maybe in two years," Luhut was quoted as saying by Kontan on Monday (11/11) yesterday.

Luhut claimed that he was reviewing Pertamina's capital expenditure (CapEx) budget which reached US$ 60 billion. This budget, said Luhut, includes the funding for the aforementioned projects, "Now we are evaluating them one by one, we are identifying them," Luhut said.

The six projects consist of four Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP), and two Grass Root Refinery (GRR). (KR/AR)
