JAKARTA. Car sales volume in the fourth quarter (Q4) may not increase the consolidated growth of car sales in 2019.
Ariyanto Kurniawan, an analyst of Mandiri Sekuritas, admitted that in October 2019, car sales rose by 3% to 96 thousand units. However, said Kurniawan, the growth was caused by the addition of stock in a number of dealers. "To anticipate the high retail sales in November-December driven by massive discounts," said Kurniawan in writing on Friday (15/11) today.
For example, discounts on cars produced by PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) have increased in October 2019. For example, discounts on Toyota Avanza and Innova cars that reached Rp 20 million and Rp 30 million.
In addition, said Kurniawan, the Association of the Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) had reduced the target of wholesales of four-wheeled vehicles in 2019 to 1 million units, from 1.15 million units. (KR/AR)
