Construction of two Yogyakarta underpasses will be completed by year end

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the VII National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) in Central Java is completing the construction of two underpasses namely the Kentungan and New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) underpasses in Kulonprogo.

The construction of the Kentungan Underpass at the intersection of Kaliurang-North Ringroad, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Province as long as 900 meters aims to unravel the traffic congestion from four directions between Kaliurang Street and Padjajaran Street.

The progress of Kentungan Underpass construction has reached 75% with a budget of Rp 110 billion done by the contractor PT. Istaka Karya (Persero). "Seeing this progress, we are optimistic that the work of the Kentungan underpass can be completed by the end of December 2019," said Head of the National Road Implementation Agency (BBPJN) VII, Akhmad Cahyadi.

As for the work underpass the New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) was built under the airport along the 1.3 km. At present, the progress has reached 99.3% which is targeted to be completed in early December to support the Christmas and New Year holidays. The underpass work was carried out by PT.Wijaya Karya - MCM KSO with a budget of Rp 239 billion. (LM)
