JAKARTA. Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Bahlil Lahadalia plans to visit China, South Korea, and Germany to channel investment into Indonesia.

Rizal Calvary Marimbo, member of the BKPM Investment Committee for Communication and Information, said the agenda would take place from 20-29 November. "Head of BKPM is also planned to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) in Hyundai factory complex, Ulsan, South Korea," Marimbo said through an official statement on Wednesday (20/11) today.

Furthermore, BKPM also scheduled a meeting with VW Wolfsburg together with Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs on Saturday (27/11).

Marimbo claims that now is the right time for foreign investors to enter Indonesia, since some of the other main investment destination countries are unstable. "For example, in Latin America there are problems in Mexico, Bolivia and Venezuela. Then there is a problem in Hong Kong, in Europe there is Brexit, "he explained.

To increase investment attractiveness in Indonesia, Marimbo stated that BKPM would provide a number of facilities for foreign investors. Starting from the simplification of procedures, regulations, licensing, and taxation. "So that investors make Indonesia an investment paradise," said Marimbo. (KR/AR)
