Amartha secures series B funding from LINE Ventures

JAKARTA - PT Amartha Mikro Fintek or Amartha, a pioneer of peer to peer lending (p2p lending) with a social impact, secured Series B funding initiated by Line Ventures, and supported by Bamboo Capital Partners, UOB Venture Management, PT Teladan Utama, and PT Medco Intidinamika.

Andi Taufan Garuda Putra, Founder and CEO of Amartha said, "At present, Amartha has channeled Rp 1.6 trillion in funding to more than 343 thousand partners in 5,200 villages in Java and Sulawesi. This series B funding will be used by Amartha to expand business throughout Indonesia so that it can empower more women and families in rural areas.”

Amartha is a p2p lending financial technology company licensed and overseen by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) that connects women micro entrepreneurs in rural areas with urban lenders who want to make profits while creating a real social impact on society. (LM)
