MDKI is postponing the plan to build Phase II carbide plant

JAKARTA - PT Emdeki Utama Tbk (MDKI) has prepared land worth Rp 23 billion to further develop the planned Phase II Carbide Desulphuriser project in Cilegon, Banten. In September 2019, the company has completed construction of the Phase I Carbide Desulphuriser project.

Quoted from the public expose answer sheet, the continued development of the Phase II Carbide Desulhuriser plant is awaiting further study, such as the development of Krakatau Steel's steel plant in Cilegon. Carbide desulphuriser is needed to reduce sulphur content in steel to produce high-quality steel. In addition, his party is monitoring global economic development due to economic slowdown.

After completion of the construction of the Phase I Carbide Desulphuriser plant, MDKI management is conducting a trial production phase. The plant's operations are expected to increase revenue next year.

Until the end of this year, the value of sales is predicted to reach Rp 353.54 billion, down 11.43% compared to last year's period, sales of Rp 399.19 billion. However, this year's net profit is projected to reach Rp 42.79 billion, up from last year's profit of Rp 33.78 billion. (LK)
