KARAWANG - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said that the Jakarta-Cikampek II Elevated Toll Road or Japek II Elevated Toll Road could be operational on December 20, 2019. The Minister of Transportation ensured this after reviewing and directly testing the Jakarta-Cikampek elevated toll road on Sunday (8/12).
Transportation Minister Budi said, previously this toll road was planned to operate on December 15, but it was postponed to December 20 by considering that there’s still several works that needed to be completed.
"It was postponed to December 20, because there were things that needed to be resolved, such as uneven roads, which reduced comfort. In addition, December 20, 2019 is predicted to be the peak of Christmas and New Year's holiday traffic," said Transportation Minister.
Transportation Minister said that only 1 class of non-bus vehicles that can enter the elevated toll road and will not be charged or still free. Speed will also be limited to between 60-80 km per hour with the supervision of Electronic Law Enforcement.
Japek II Toll Road will operate commercially in January or February 2020. For information, the elevated toll road along the 39 KM stretches from the Cikunir interchange to the West Karawang toll gate at KM 9 to KM 48. (LM)
