JAKARTA. The Ministry of State-owned Enterprises will launch B30 biodiesel fuel at the end of the year, ahead of the initial planned launch in early 2020.
"The launch will take place probably in the last weeks of this month," said Special Staffer to the SOE Minister Arya Sinulingga as quoted by Kontan, Tuesday (10/12).
The ministry believes that the launch of B30 will be as successful as B20, which has reduced diesel fuel import by up to 3.5 million kilolitres. With the B30 programme, the ministry hopes that diesel fuel import can be reduced further.
According to Mr Sinulingga, B30 products will be available at petrol stations owned by PT Pertamina (Persero). However, it is not clear yet whether the products will also be available at petrol stations owned by other companies. "The products will be available at [Pertamina's] petrol stations this December," said Mr SInulingga. (KR/MS)
