JAKARTA. By the end of the third quarter (Q3) of 2019, the Domestic Content Level (TKDN) of goods and services in the upstream oil and gas sector has reached US$ 2.27 billion.

The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) said the value was equivalent to Rp 60.8 trillion. For goods procurement, the value was recorded at US$ 844 million, while for the procurement of services, the value was US$ 3.47 billion.

Wisnu Prabawa Taher, Head of Program and Communications Division of SKK Migas, said that TKDN is expected to contribute to the growth of the domestic industry. Thus, said Taher, Indonesia's trade balance deficit can be reduced.

"What has been done by SKK Migas is continuing to push to increase the role of the national industry in the implementation of the upstream oil and gas project and the role of upstream oil and gas in driving the national economy," Taher said as quoted by Bisnis Indonesia on Tuesday (10/12) yesterday.
