Menkes proposes an additional JKN budget of Rp 48.77 trillion

JAKARTA. The Ministry of Health proposes a National Health Insurance (JKN) budget for Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI) of Rp 48.77 trillion. Meanwhile, the available funds were recorded at Rp 26.7 trillion, so additional funds of Rp 22.07 trillion are needed.

Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto said the proposal was evidence of the government's efforts to improve people's access to health services.

"The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia proposes an additional budget of Rp 22.07 trillion," said Minister Terawan during a meeting with the  Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), was quoted from a press release issued by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday (10/12).

The press release revealed that the number of PBI participants financed by the State Budget reached 96.8 million people.

BPJS Healthcare is known to be used more commonly to cover catastrophic illnesses, including cardiovascular diseases, cancer and stroke. (AM/AR)
