13 December 2019 06:12

JAKARTA. MDI Ventures, a venture capital firm owned by PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM), will provide financing for a number of new startups that are still being developed.

Sandhy Widyasthana, Portfolio Director of MDI Ventures, said that the financing will be provided through Centauri Fund with KB Financial Group, an investor from South Korea. "We already have a list of targets which of course will be followed up with due diligence," Widyasthana said as quoted by Kontan on Thursday (12/12) yesterday.

Widyasthana is not sure how many startups will get financing. But the value of funds to be distributed is US$ 150 million. "The amount will be flexible," said Widyasthana.

MDI Ventures has invested in 35 startups from 11 countries. Meanwhile TLKM, as the holding company, has given MDI Ventures capital injection of US$ 100 million so far. (KR/AR)
