Pertamina is looking for new partners to work on its Bontang and Balongan refinery projects

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina is currently looking for new partners to work on its two oil refinery projects in Bontang and Balongan.

President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati said that the company is currently looking for partners to replace Overseas Oil and Gas LLC (OOG), a company from Oman, in the Bontang Refinery. "So there won't be a problem like (what happened at) Cilacap," Nicke was quoted as saying by Katadata.com on Friday (13/12)

Nicke's statement is an affirmation of the statement of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, who stated that OOG is not serious enough, and therefore Pertamina should look for a new partner.

Currently, two companies from the United Arab Emirates, Mubadala and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company or Adnocyang, have the opportunity to become Pertamina's partners in the Bontang refinery project to replace OOG.

Regarding the Balongan Refinery, Nicke said that Pertamina was also currently looking for partners. Pertamina had previously signed a contract for the procurement of the Dual Feed Competition or DFC in Balongan with RRE and JSW Consortium. (ARM/AR)
