JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade is targeting the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) to be completed in 2020.

According to Deputy Trade Minister Jerry Sambuaga, IEU-CEPA is one of the international trade deals most prioritised by the government. “[The target is] next year,” said Mr Sambuaga during a visit to the Bersehati Market, Manado, North Sulawesi on Friday (13/12).

The Ministry of Trade, said Mr Sambuaga, is still in negotiation with European and Indonesian stakeholders to speed up the completion of IEU-CEPA. He added that the deal will bring many positive impacts for Indonesia.

“The European Union is a large market with over 400 million people. Indonesia can carry out a massive penetration that will increase trade and improve our economy,” said Mr Sambuaga. (MS)
