New government regulation is expected to improve Antam's performance

JAKARTA. The issuance of Government Regulation Number 81/2019 concerning Types and Rates of Non-Tax State Revenues (PNBP) is expected to improve the performance of PT Aneka Tambang Tbk. (Antam) next year.

Dede Izudin, Acting SVP of Corporate Secretary of Antam, said that the new regulation aside from regulating nickel royalty increase to 10% is also reduced royalties for ferronickel from 4% to 2%.

During the period of January to September 2019 (9M), the company recorded a ferronickel production of 19,052 tons of nickel in ferronickel (TNi) with a ferronickel sales rate of 19,703 TNi, or 3% higher compared to the same period the previous year (19,149 TNi).

A press release revealed that gold was the biggest contributor to Antam's sales in January-September 2019, with a portion of 69% (Rp 17.03 trillion) of Antam's net sales value in that period of Rp 24.53 trillion. The company's total sales grew by 23% compared to the record in 9M 2018 (Rp 19.95 trillion). (AM/AR)
