JAKARTA. The Central Bureau of Statistics noted that the trade balance deficit in November 2019 was recorded at US$ 1.33 billion due to weaker export performance.

Suhariyanto, Head of BPS, said that the deficit in November 2019 was quite deep. "But it is still better than its position of November 2018 of US$ 2.05 billion," he said as quoted by Kontan on Monday (16/12) today.

In November 2019, Indonesia's export performance fell by 6.17% on a Month on Month (MoM) basis to US$ 14.01 billion. While imports rose by 3.94% MoM to US$ 15.34 billion.

Suhariyanto explained the value of Indonesia's exports and imports in November is taking into account the dynamics of global commodity prices. Cumulatively from January to November 2019, Indonesia's trade deficit has reached US$ 7.6 billion. (KR/AR)
