GIAA prepares three options to seek US$ 750 million

JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) is preparing three options to obtain US$ 750 million to US$ 900 million to pay for its 2015 Global Sukuk that will mature in June 2020. The options including the issuance of Global Sukuk, private placement, and peer to peer lending. The options will later be discussed at the company's Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) on 24 January 2020.

As quoted from the company's disclosure, the global sukuk will be issued with a maximum value of US$ 750 million, through a company that will be established abroad. The sukuk will be paid in 2024 at the latest. 

The second option, GIAA will conduct a private placement and issue bonds denominated in US dollars (US$).

The third option, the company will obtain funds from peer to peer (P2P) lending which will be paid in full on no later than 2024. The maximum amount of funds to be obtained through this scheme is US$ 500 million. (LK/AR)
