2019 inflation rate lowest in two decades

JAKARTA. The government managed to maintain inflation rate in 2019 at 2.72%, the lowest in the last two decades.

This was announced by Finance Minister Sri Mulyani at the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday (7/1). "The 2019 inflation rate is the lowest in the last 20 years," she said.

In terms of macroassumption, Ms Indrawati said, some aspects of the 2019 State Budget realisation missed the government's target, such as the economic growth predicted at 5.05%. Although the number is not yet finalised, the prediction is lower than the government's target of 5.3%.

Meanwhile, realisation of three-month Treasury Notes interest rate was recorded at 5.6%, higher than the set ceiling of 5.3%. The rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar in 2019 reached Rp 14,146, lower than the predicted Rp 15,000, while the Indonesian crude price (ICP) in 2019 reached US$ 62 per barrel, lower than the assumption of US$ 70 per barrel.
