XL will focus on infrastructure development to support its data service business

JAKARTA. PT XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL) will focus on infrastructure development in areas outside of Java, to support the data service business which is expected to be the driver of the company's growth this year.

Head of Corporate Communication of XL Axiata Group, Tri Wahyuningsih said the challenges and competition in the telecommunications industry would be tougher due to the tariff war, especially in data services. 

"Therefore, since last year we have periodically reviewed and adjusted customer data rates in order to make the telecommunications industry healthier in competition," he said as quoted by Kontan.co.id, Friday (10/1).

For this reason, her party will focus on building infrastructure in regions outside of Java this year. According to him, the location is a new potential market.

At present, XL Axiata serves 55.5 million customers with support with more than 129,261 BTS, including more than 53,000 3G BTS and more than 39,000 4G BTS. (AM/AR)
