JAKARTA. People's Consultative Assembly Speaker Bambang Soesatyo has asked the Audit Board to examine all insurance and pension fund SOEs to obtain a clear picture of their investment schemes and procedures.
According to Mr Soesatyo, following the PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero) scandal which caused a loss of Rp 13.7 trillion, another scandal has emerged - this time involving PT ASABRI (Persero) with a loss of Rp 10 trillion.
"The Audit Board needs to conduct a thorough examination of all insurance SOEs to prevent cases such as Jiwasraya and Asabri from occurring in other SOEs," said Mr Soesatyo in a statement received by Kompas.com, Monday (13/1).
Currently there are seven insurance SOEs: PT Jasa Raharja (Persero), PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero), PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Persero), PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Persero), PT Asuransi Ekspor Indonesia (Persero), PT Reasuransi Indonesia Utama (Persero), and PT Asabri (Persero). (AM/MS)
