20 January 2020 13:42

JAKARTA. PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO) is developing its New and Renewable Energy (EBT) line to help meet the company's internal electricity needs.

Dharma Djojonegoro, Vice President Director of ADRO, said that the company is currently conducting a feasibility test of a mini-hydro plant in Central Kalimantan with a capacity of around 2-4 megawatts (MW) and one in Central Sulawesi, with a capacity of around 4-6 MW. "This year we are also studying about the development of the Floating PLTS," Djojonegoro was quoted as saying by Kontan on Monday (20/1) today.

In addition, ADRO is also actively participating in the auction for EBT power plants. For example, PLN's power plants in the East Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan and Papua.

In 2020, ADRO will adjust to the potential of EBT in each region. Not only limited to water-powered plants, but also geothermal power, biogas, and so forth. (KR/AR)
