LABUAN BAJO - One of the area structuring activities carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in 2020 is the development of Waterfront Labuan Bajo.
PUPR Minister Basuki said efforts to increase tourist visits to Labuan Bajo were carried out in stages, with improvements to infrastructure that would become a priority. The five aforementioned Waterfront Zones will now enter the auction stage consisting of Zone A Bukit Pramuka, Zone B Kampung Air, Zone C Pier, Zone D of the Marina Beach area (Inaya Bay), Zone E Kampung Ujung.
"In accordance with President Joko Widodo's direction, all infrastructure development for Labuan Bajo must be completed by 2020. All designs have been completed, the auction has started in December 2019, so that physical construction activities can begin in February-March and finish at the end of December 2020," said Minister Basuki.
To support the structuring of Labuan Bajo Waterfront, the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Highways is also improving roads, structuring sidewalks, and drainage on the Soekarno Hatta Road sections above and below, including Jalan Pantai Pede. This area is also equipped with comfortable pedestrian paths with artistic designs such as lighting and street furniture with the concept of walking distance. (LM)
