22 January 2020 14:04

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) or AP I is partnering PT Pelita Air Service, an airline subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), to develop its airfreight business through its cargo subsidiary PT Angkasa Pura Logistik.

“The development of our airfreight business is one of our strategic programmes in 2020, including through this aircraft lease partnership [with Pelita],” said AP I CEO Faik Fahmi in an official statement, Wednesday (22/1).

Angkasa Pura Logistik will lease two ATR 72-500F cargo aircraft owned by Pelita. In the first stage, the company will fly two routes, namely Jakarta-Balikpapan and Jakarta-Makassar.

Developing a cargo business is part of AP I’s strategy to increase revenue growth, mainly from non-aeronautical business lines, this year. (MS)
