JAKARTA. The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) noted that there were still a number of stalled projects,  with a total value of Rp 519 trillion as of January 2020.

Bahlil Lahadalia, Head of BKPM, said that a number of these stalled projects had been tried to be completed since 2019. The total investment value on the stalled projects that have been completed reaches Rp 189 trillion, or 23.39% of the total investment value on the stalled projects.

"It consists of projects that have stalled for 2, 4 years, even 10 years, for example, Lotte in Cilegon, "Lahadalia explained to Bisnis Indonesia on Wednesday (29/1) today.

As idnfinancials.com has previously reported, those projects were stalled due to overlapping regulations made by central and regional governments. Therefore, Lahadalia said that BKPM was asked by President Joko Widodo to solve the problem. (KR/AR)
