Bank Jatim records 9.22% net profit growth in 2019

JAKARTA. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (BJTM) or Bank Jatim posted Rp 1.38 trillion in net profit in 2019.

According to Bank Jatim CFO and acting CEO Ferdian Satyagraha, the company's 2019 performance was adequate with nearly double-digit profit growth.

"Our net profit grew 9.22% year on year to Rp 1.38 trillion. We hope we can maintain our good performance this year," he said at Bank Jatim's analyst meeting on Thursday (30/1).

The company's loans in 2019 rose 13.16% year on year to Rp 38.35 trillion, double the industrial aveerage of 6%.

Mr Satyagraha remains optimistic that the company's loan quality can be improved, having lowered its non-performing loan (NPL) ratio to 2.77% from 3% in the previous year and collecting Rp 60.55 trillion in third-party funds, up 18.91% year on year. "The growth of our third-party funds was dominated by the growth of current accounts by 23.54% to Rp 23.83 trillion," he said. (AM/MS)
