Ministry of Trade will strengthen trade cooperation with Turkey

JAKARTA - Vice Minister of Trade Jerry Sambuaga paid a working visit to Turkey on 1-3 February 2020. This working visit aims to strengthen trade cooperation between the two countries and improve Indonesia's export performance, as well as follow up on the acceleration of the completion of the Indonesia-Turkey Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IT CEPA).

"Strengthening trade cooperation with Turkey is one of the priorities for Indonesia because both are big countries in their respective regions. The trade potential of the two countries is wide open," said the Vice Minister of Trade.

For information, during the working visit of Indonesian President Joko Widodo in July 2017, trade between the two countries is targeted to reach USD 10 billion in 2023.

During his visit, the Vice Minister of Trade will also conduct business meetings and dialogues with Turkish business actors or importers to further purchase Indonesian export products. The Vice Minister of Trade will also emphasize negotiations on the Indonesia-Turkey Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IT CEPA) which is being negotiated and its benefits for trade in goods and services as well as investment in the two countries.
