Indonesia-Turkey negotiates 4th round of IT CEPA

ANKARA - Negotiators from Indonesia and Turkey met again in the 4th round of the Indonesia-Turkey Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IT CEPA) which took place on January 30-31 January 2020 in Ankara, Turkey. This round of negotiations resumed the 3rd round which took place on January 24-25 January 2019 in Jakarta.

In this round there are six Working Groups that discuss various issues. These issues are related to trade in goods, economic cooperation, customs and trade facilitation (CTF), trade security (TR Remedies / TR), sanitation and phytosanitary (SPS), as well as legal matters.

"The negotiations went very well and there is progress in almost all Working Groups. This will encourage the efforts of the two countries that are committed to completing the 2020 negotiations in accordance with the mandates of the two Heads of State," explained Director of Bilateral Negotiations at the Ministry of Trade Ni Made Ayu Marthini who led the Indonesian delegation.

For information, the two delegations agreed to continue the 5th round of negotiations in Indonesia in April 2020. (LM)
