YOGYAKARTA - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) in Kulonprogo will be fully operational on March 29, 2020.

"March 29, YIA will be fully operational, at that time the movement of passengers will be massive. To anticipate this, I have asked the Director General of Land Transportation and PT. Damri to optimize the Damri Bus Headway (waiting time) per 30 minutes," said the Minister of Transportation.

The Minister of Transportation revealed, the Ministry of Transportation had provided subsidized tariffs for Damri Buses to and from YIA in 2 (two) Damri shelters, namely from the Sleman City Hall and Hartono Mall shelters at a tariff of Rp 25.000. Meanwhile, on the YIA-Malioboro Shelter route, a commercial tariff of Rp 70.000 applies.

Based on information from PT AP I, YIA has been supported by public transportation modes such as Damri, SatelQu, airport taxis, online taxis, and trains from the nearest station namely Wojo Station which can be accessed from the airport in 10 minutes. The choice of transportation mode will make it easier for passengers using airport services. (LM)
