Data on oil and gas resources are opened to facilitate investment

JAKARTA. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has opened access to data on oil and gas resources to facilitate investment in the upstream sector.

Sampe L. Purba, Expert Staff in the field of Natural Resource Economics, said that access was opened using a membership system. "The government provides data access to all parties who need it with maximum access for those who are registered as members," Purba explained as reported by Kontan on Tuesday (4/1) today.

Meanwhile, for non-members, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources only provides general, more basic data

Whereas each official member must pay a contribution of US$ 50,000 to the Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) that owns 5 or more working areas, US$ 40,000 for 80 KKKS with 1 WK, and US$ 35,000 for non-compulsory members. (KR/AR)
