Foreign tourists recorded at 16.10 million in 2019

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia in 2019 reached 16.10 million, up 1.88% from the previous year. However, the number of foreign tourist visits in December 2019 declined from December 2018.

According to a BPS report published on Monday (3/2), in December 2019 there were 1.37 million foreign tourist visits, lower than 1.40 million in December 2018. However, the amount increased from 1.28 million in November 2019.

Based on countries of origin, the majority of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia came from Vietnam (52.86%), followed by the United Arab Emirates (41.19%), and Russia (31.35%). In December 2019, most foreign tourists came from Malaysia (17.4%). (LK/MS)
