JAKARTA - Edtech startup Zenius Education has pocketed US$20 million in a Series A funding round led by Singapore-based private equity firm Northstar Group, the startup’s first external funding. Other investors participating in the round were Kinesys Group and BeeNext.

In an official statement, Zenius said the fresh funds will be used to accelerate business growth, develop technology, and expand its services across Indonesia.

“We believe that with their combination of technology, strong talent, and sustainable social impact mission, Zenius would be able to make its mark on the education sector in Indonesia,” said Northstar Group co-founder and managing partner Patrick Walujo as quoted by DealStreet Asia, Wednesday (5/2).

Zenius, which was established in 2004, offers tech-based learning solutions with over 8,000 learning videos and practise quizzes for school students on its platform Zenius.net. The startup has recently appointed former Gojek COO Rohan Monga as its CEO. (MS)
