JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance has asked all ministries and government agencies to fast-track budget spending, including Village Fund disbursement.
“As of February 10 Rp 586 billion of the Village Fund has been disbursed to over 1,490 villages,” Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati told the press after the Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the Bogor Palace, Tuesday (11/2).
The amount is higher compared to Village Fund disbursement in February last year, which amounted to Rp 317 billion. In addition, Ms Indrawati added, she will coordinate with Education Minister Nadiem Makarim and Villages Minister Abdul Halim Iskandar to directly disburse funds for school operational costs and village accounts.
“This is so that the impact of the State Budget can be felt by the public and boost the Indonesian economy,” said Ms Indrawati.
In total, as of January 31, 2020 ministry and government agency spending has reached Rp 30.9 trillion, consisting of Rp 3.3 trillion of goods expenditure, Rp 1.9 billion of capital expenditure, Rp 13.2 trillion of social assistance, and Rp 12.5 trillion of employee expenditure. (MS)
