Patimban Port Connecting Bridge Project is officially signed

JAKARTA - The first phase of the Patimban Port development project (package 3) of the Connecting Bridge or Port Development Project (I) Package 3: Connecting Bridge was signed on Thursday (13/2). The signing was carried out between the Ministry of Transportation and Wika-PP Joint Company. The signing was witnessed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation Djoko Sasono and the Director General of Sea Transportation R. Agus. H Purnomo at the Ministry of Transportation Office, Jakarta.

"As stated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia when reviewing the progress of the construction of Patimban Port in November 2019, he appreciated the development of Patimban Port, which is almost equivalent to Tanjung Priok Port. The President hopes that the construction of this port will improve the performance of a more competitive port so that it can reduce logistics costs, thus of course it is expected that exports will also increase," said Secretary General Djoko Sasono when reading the Minister of Transportation's remarks.

Furthermore, the Secretary General said it was planned that in September 2020 if it went well, a soft opening for the first phase of Patimban Port would be conducted.

The contract value of Package 3 is Rp 524,140,228,418 which will be carried out for approximately 630 days, with the scope of work including land cleansing, demolition, excavation of structures, asphalt, concrete structures, support work, utilities and installation of supply water pipes.

For information, Patimban Port Development will be carried out in 3 (three) stages. In the first phase, Patimban Port is planned to be able to serve 3.75 million containers (TEUS) and 600,000 motorized vehicles (CBU). In the second phase, service capacity will increase to 5.5 Million TEUs and in the third phase will increase again to 7.5 Million TEUs. (LM)
