Manahan Stadium is ready to be a U-20 World Cup venue

SOLO - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, and Solo Mayor FX Hadi Rudyatmo inaugurated the completion of the renovation of the Manahan Stadium in Solo. A major renovation has been carried out by the Ministry of PUPR since August 2018 at a cost of Rp 301.3 billion so that the Manahan Stadium becomes a modern international standard stadium that can hold international standard sports activities.

"Alhamdulillah, we have done a major renovation of Manahan Stadium so that the facilities will be better and can be immediately determined by FIFA and PSSI as the stadium to host the U20 World Cup," President Jokowi said in his speech at Manahan Stadium Solo, Saturday (02/15/2020) .

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that the Manahan Stadium had a capacity of 20,000 spectators with a single seat that was built in order to become a national and international event venue.

Manahan is one of the stadiums prepared as a venue for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2021. For athlete’s comfort, improvements are also made to the changing rooms for players equipped with hot tubs (jacuzzi) for each team and the athlete's warm up room. The athletic track has also been improved and has received a class 2 certificate. (LM)
