JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance has channeled Phase I of the School Operational Assistance Fund amounting to Rp 9,803,214,420,000 to 136,579 schools across Indonesia as of Monday (17/2). The fund was disbursed ahead of the previous year, where Phase I of the fund was channeled in March and April.
This year the School Operational Assistance Fund is channeled directly from the State General Account to school accounts in accordance with Minister of Finance Regulation No. 9/PMK.07/2020 on the Revision of Minister of Finance Regulation No. 48/PMK.07/2019 on the Management of Non-Physical Special Allocated Fund. The Ministry of Finance claims that the regulation provides schools with fiscal flexibility to manage the fund.
In Phase I, 30% of the overall School Operational Assistance Fund was disbursed to schools with recommendation from Education Minister Nadiem Makarim while 40% will be disbursed in Phase II and 30% in Phase III. With the gradual disbursement, schools will receive 70% of the Regular School Operational Assistance Fund for the first semester of the school year. (MS)
