JAKARTA. PT Pelita Samudera Shipping Tbk (PSSI) targets to boost its revenue by 2020 to US$ 92 million - US$ 95 million, 20% to 25% higher than the realization in 2019.

Imelda Agustina Kiagoes, Corporate Secretary of PSSI, said that the company has prepared strategies to achieve the target. "With asset optimization, business diversification and asset expansion," Kiagoes explained through an official statement.

A number of these strategies, said Kiagoes, were implemented from 1 to 2 years ago. For example, the divestment of one Floating Loading Facility (FLF) unit conducted in September 2018.

In addition, PSSI has also purchased several vessels in 2019 to increase its transport capacity. The company projects that all of its new vessels will be fully operational this year.

For diversification, Kiagoes explained that PSSI will continue to try to transport commodities other than coal, from nickel to iron. This effort is believed to be able to help the company maintain its profitability amid coal price fluctuations. (KR/AR)
