JAKARTA - Entertainment company Visinema has raised US$3.25 million in a Series A funding round led by Intudo Ventures. Other investors participating in the round are GDP Venture and Ancora Capital.

According to an official statement, the fresh funds will be used to expand Visinema’s capacity in animation production, enhance talent acquisition, and support international expansion.

“Indonesia’s domestic film industry has experienced rapid growth over the past few years, both in terms of feature-length films and unique content formats, and there continues to be significant demand for high-grade local content,” said Intudo Ventures founding partner Patrick Yip as quoted by DealStreet Asia, Wednesday (26/2).

“With in-house produced Hollywood-caliber content, we believe that Visinema is well-positioned to tell more Indonesian stories to audiences both domestically and around the world.”

As well as feature production house Visinema Pictures and digital content producer Visinema Content, Visinema also operates an end-to-end studio ecosystem for film development. In addition, the company also runs Visinema Music, a music production division, and creative lab Visinema Campus. (MS)
