JAKARTA - Mastercard has confirmed it will lead financial technology startup Digiasia Bios’s Series B funding round.
In an official statement, Mastercard said it will provide Digiasia with capital and strategic assistance to strengthen the startup’s financial services for individuals and MSMEs.
“Financial inclusion is about more than just having people transact money via apps or make online purchases,” said Mastercard Southeast Asia Emerging Markets Division President Safdar Khan as quoted by DealStreet Asia, Tuesday (3/3).
“It’s about finding simple mechanisms that broaden economic opportunities so that people at all levels of society can enjoy the benefits of a modernising digital economy.”
In the third quarter of 2019, Digiasia secured US$7 million in a Series A round from US VC firm Nexis Capital. Its affiliates include e-wallet platform KasPro, MSME P2P lending platform KreditPro, and remittance platform RemitPro. (MS
